Beardstown · Timber frame
The family wanted the 1911 structure kept and a house put inside it. We took the frame down bent by bent, replaced eleven members with white oak cut nine miles away, and set it back on a new foundation. The original hay track is still in the ceiling.
Lobelville · New build
The whole plan turned on a single view down the hollow. We set the ridge fourteen degrees off square to catch it, which complicated every roof detail and was unquestionably the right call. Everything else followed from that decision.
Hohenwald · Restoration
A dogtrot cabin with a four-inch sag and no square corner in it. Jacked over five months, a quarter inch at a time, so nothing cracked. The owners lived in it the whole way through.
